DRIVE-MIND II

Community mental-health care for people who inject drugs

Project overview

A psychiatric intervention integrated into community care for people who inject drugs with depression or psychotic symptoms in Hai Phong.

Objective

Determine whether a community-based psychiatric intervention can sustainably reduce HIV and HCV risk exposure, improve mental health and quality of life, and reduce harmful drug use among people who inject drugs.

Study design

Follow-up at baseline, month 6 and month 12 of participants from the DRIVE-MIND cohort with depression or psychotic symptoms, alongside 200 HIV-positive and 200 HIV-negative controls without significant psychiatric symptoms.
