Project overview

A longitudinal study of decentralized hepatitis C care for people living with HIV in Yen Bai and Nghe An.

Objective

Compare adherence to 12-week direct-acting antiviral treatment when HIV and HCV care are delivered at the same site versus at separate clinical sites, and assess treatment success, HCV genotypes, resistance and reinfection.

Study design

Longitudinal cohort of 343 people with HIV-HCV co-infection enrolled in Yen Bai and Nghe An. Dried blood spots are sent to a central Hanoi laboratory for HCV viral-load testing.
